Who we're following.

Our favorite finds from Instagram - click for some daily inspiration.

Darryl Carter is one of the top names in interior design these days, and his Instagram account is chock full of the things that make his style so entrancing and hard to put into words; in approach, he is nearly hyper-modern, typically layering sparsely upon a black and white foundation, yet his designs are full of rustic antiques and unique finds repurposed in unexpected ways. If you want to see some daily insight into what groundbreaking interior design looks like, follow him!

What we're eyeing.

Our favorite finds of the moment, sure to make your house or your life, just a little better, a little prettier, or perhaps just a bit more awesome.

And speaking of Darryl Carter, we're seriously lusting after his new collection from Milling Road for Baker Furniture.  After the initial reveal at Highpoint Market, we knew this collection was going to be great, and boy, did it deliver!  Every piece is a standout, and the collection exemplifies his modern-meets-traditional, old-meets-new, classic-yet-totally-original style.

What We're Doing.

While Nashville certainly doesn't lack for entertaining options, we've sorted through the mess to give you the best way(s) to spend your precious time.

During these dog days of summer in Nashville, there is nowhere we'd rather be than the cool, calming mountains of North Carolina.  Our favorite hideaway is tucked up some 4,000 feet above sea level in the little town of Highlands, NC.  There you will find one of the finest small resorts and spas in the country, The Old Edwards Inn (and a cute cottage for rent from Nashville's own Eric Ross Interiors!).  While it feels like a second home to us at this point, they keep things fresh with a variety of great events, like the upcoming La Fete Nationale Francaise, a Champagne dinner on the eve of Bastille Day, hosted at their nearby farm.  Should be a blast!

What We're Reading.

The latest, and dare we say, the most important real estate news you need to see, curated by yours truly.

Instead of our standard real estate article this week, we'd like to take some time to fill you in on our recent May 2017 Nashville real estate market report.  We take a look at the stats, and lo, they are good.

"Greater Nashville made May a record-setting month by continuing year-over-year sales gains,” said Greater Nashville REALTORS President Scott Troxel. “In spite of the low supply levels, Middle Tennessee joins the majority of the country in experiencing healthy market trends."

Overall, May closings were up 6.6% year over year, and 2017 is currently tracking 7% up over 2016.  Meanwhile, median prices are up nearly 8% year over year...
